Ms. Ana has an unyielding passion for education and nature. She is a Montessori-trained Guide, Nature-Based outdoor teacher certified by Erafans, and an experienced bilingual educator with a staggering 15 years of experience.
Ana's dedication to unconventional learning methods was matched only by her commitment to fostering bilingual and cultural education. She had crafted a unique home-based program that merged her love for Montessori principles with the wonders of the natural world. The children in her care thrived, experiencing the magic of bilingual learning in a way that was both joyful and transformative.
Ana is currently part of the Outdoor Preschool Licensing stockholder workgroup selected by MSDE to make outdoor preschools licensed in Maryland and help close the academic gap. The pilot program will start in August 2024.
Ana spearheaded the Pikesville Community Garden Committee to start a community garden in the Pikesville area. She is working hand-in-hand with the Pikesville Revitalization Committee and Baltimore County Planner's office to turn her vision into a reality.
Ana is not only a beloved guide but also a devoted Girl Scout Volunteer. Her multi-level troop embarked on thrilling outdoor adventures, immersing themselves in the wonders of nature and building lasting bonds of friendship.
Ana's influence on Sudbrook Park reached far beyond the classroom and scout meetings. She became an active member of the Sudbrook Park Association, dedicating herself to bringing engaging outdoor programs to her community. Her enthusiasm was infectious, drawing neighbors together in a shared mission to cherish and preserve the beauty of the world around them.
